So I've been living at my place for a little over two weeks now and it's started to feel like home. Went to Target and Kmart a bunch of times, so I feel pretty settled now. Here are some pics of my room!
Tried to decorate my walls as best I could with pics of my nieces and friends, so it feels more homey.
Pyrmont is a pretty cool area. It's close to the city but doesn't have that super busy feel, but there are "heaps" of cafes, pubs and restaurants. I can walk to work, which takes me about 30 minutes each way. I got the bus stop right across the street, a few grocery stores nearby and I am near the water, which is really cool. Been jogging there in the morning to get my exercise in, since gyms are super expensive here.
My "flatmates" are really cool and nice. Vanessa and Kel live in the master bedroom. He is a police officer and she is a news producer. Super nice and friendly. Kel helped me build my desk the other day which was super helpful.
We had a welcome "barbie" the other night to celebrate my move, which was really nice. Kel made mojitors (my fav!) Lee is my other roomie, who I share the bathroom, or "toliet" with. She's a personal trainer and accountant. I'm excited to take one of her classes sometime soon. She's really cool and nice. Feel very fortunate to be living with really nice, chill people.
It's been really fun hanging out with them. We all do our own thing but have dinners together every now and then and have a few drinks. Building up my tolerance! I cooked chicken enchiladas from them the other night. They turned out good, but when I went to buy the ingredients and was looking for tomato sauce, I accidentally got ketchup!
So this is the new view I get to see on my walk to work. Not too shabby if I do say so. The Opera house was nice, but this will do.
So things are going pretty well and I am feeling at home in Sydney. We shall see how it goes...
